Allergy Treatment
for Pets

Once your dog or cat has been diagnosed with any allergies, we can offer a range of treatments and medications. We can help you find a life-long maintenance diet to avoid the proteins that trigger your pet’s food allergy.

If your pet has an environmental allergy (atopic dermatitis) we may recommend avoiding allergens when possible, immunotherapy injections, medications to reduce any itching and shampoos or lotions to treat skin infections. We’ll work with you to create a tailored plan for you and your pet.

WHAT WE
TREAT

WHAT WE

TREAT

After we have diagnosed your pet with any allergies, secondary infections, and factors causing flare-ups, we’ll develop a detailed treatment plan. This plan may change as time goes by based on how your pet responds to treatment.

Our aim is to:

  • Strengthen your pet’s skin barrier so the condition of their skin improves

  • Avoid food allergies with appropriate diets

  • Use avoidance strategies to reduce the causes and symptoms of environmental allergies

  • Recommend immunotherapy injections if suitable for your pet

  • Offer tablets, injections or oral solutions to suit your pet’s needs

We may also advise topical therapy such as shampoo, lotions, sprays and wipes. The type of therapy we’ll recommend will depend on test results, how well your pet is accepting treatment, and your personal preference.

Who do we care for.webp

WHO DO WE Care For

We care for dogs and cats of all breeds and ages with skin allergies and ear disease. Perhaps things have taken a turn for the worse and your pet has a particularly nasty skin or ear infection that is resistant to standard antibiotics and treatments - we can help. It doesn’t matter to us if the condition is relatively new or if it has been ongoing for many years.

Treating the underlying cause can sometimes mean the infection goes away. New therapies, such as photobiomodulation, using Phovia®, can treat some infections or speed up recovery.

Ear infections can be particularly challenging, especially if they have entered the middle ear, and many infections are resistant to multiple antibiotics. We have specialised video otoscopy equipment that can be used to examine, clean and treat ear disease. We’re here to take the best care of your pet.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

Woody.png

"Simon has been our vet for over 10 years, so when we’ve encountered skin issues with our dogs we’ve been lucky to benefit from his in-depth, and enthusiastic expertise! A poorly pet is always a worry, but it’s easy to trust Simon as he bothers to take time to talk us through the problem, and importantly, the treatment options. Being part of that decision is really important to us.”

"Henry has had severe allergies for many years now, and finding someone who truly understands and can manage his problems has made all the difference. Simon is kind, patient, and incredibly thorough. He takes time to explain everything and has worked with us to find a treatment plan that has finally brought Henry some relief. With Simon’s knowledge it gives us confidence and peace of mind that Henry is getting the best treatment”

"We feel really lucky to have found Simon. He successfully diagnosed our little dog (Candy) with multiple allergies - lots of other vets we had seen didn’t have the expertise to do this. This meant he was able to tailor her treatment to her allergies and all her symptoms have been well controlled for years now. Simon is always up to date with advances in veterinary science and involves us in decisions about Candy’s treatment. He has helped us manage her occasional flare-ups at home and to know when she needs professional help. He is just amazing and I can’t recommend him highly enough.”
